Terrific. I've been to Japan about four times now, and this is just about as good as anything that you'll find while visiting the city of Tokyo. While the service did take some while, the taste of the food made up for that rather long wait. Would strongly recommend the visit.

This place is the real deal. From California and this place imo is the best I'm had for tonkatsu. Since I don't like sushi I find myself eating tonkatsu and this place delivers. The minced options are what really blew me away. The breading has a crunch but isn't a battle on my mouth. It holds together as well and the quality of the meat is exceptional. I thought it was an expensive tourist trap but to be quite honest I would have paid more it was that great. I appreciate the authentic feel of the restaurant and staff as well. Truly an exceptional katsu location. As far as the location it gives off standard japanese eatery energy and as a solo traveler I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Staff is friendly and appears to be family. The Japanese being spoken gives it another great touch. Really happy to be a patron and if I find myself in Waikiki this will be a return stop.

Love this place for their pork kurobuta katsu! This time around, I decided to order takeout so I could enjoy in the comfort of my hotel room watching the sunset. Katsu was still crispy and flavorful. I probably should've asked for extra sesame dressing for my cabbage slaw but I inhaled everything!

I stop at Ginza basically every Oahu trip. They are consistent and delicious every time. In addition to having phenomenal service! This time I tried the black tiger shrimp katsu which blew me away. The shrimp was just delicious and I loved the tartar sauce/egg salad.

The ambiance was wonderfully relaxing and quiet, creating a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The cozy setting made it perfect for a calm and enjoyable meal. We were pleasantly surprised when they accommodated us without a reservation, which was a nice gesture. However, we did face a small hiccup: some menu items were sold out, which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to trying a few of them. Despite that, the food was decent. We enjoyed our dishes--they were well-prepared and flavorful. through. The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and proactive, frequently checking in to see if we needed refills on our coleslaw and water. They managed to strike the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal. Overall, it was a pleasant visit with good food, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it and look forward to returning.

We had heard good things about this place so we made a reservation for dinner on a Tuesday night. It's an unassuming place a little off the beaten path in Waikiki, you could easily walk past it but you'd be missing out! Between the three of us, we got the Specialty Kurobuta Pork Loin Katsu, a Kurobuta Pork Loin Katsu, and the Original Bairin Pork Tenderloin Katsu Sandwich. It was unique to be able to make our own katsu sauce- they brought us a mortar and pestle to grind sesame seeds and then we mixed the sauce base in. The katsu was amazing- the breading was light and crispy (not overly heavy or deep fry taste) and the pork was tender and juicy, not dried out at all. Katsu on a much higher level! We could taste the difference in the specialty pork loin- a higher fat/marbling content which made it juicier and tender. Definitely worth the extra $3 to get that cut! The katsu sandwich was good as well but definitely could not compare with the loin cuts. Definitely recommended, we'd love to come back again the next time we are in Waikiki! A little pricey but you get what you pay for!

The chicken katsu here was absolutely DIVINE. The curry sauce was perfect, the katsu was flakey and crunchy and I easily ate it all before everyone else in my party even started on theirs. Very delicious though a little pricey. The fiancé got the specialty kurobuta pork loin katsu set, their fattiest cut of pork and she greatly enjoyed it though I'm not as big a fan of the fatty cuts. Overall this meal was very delicious but definitely a pricey meal. Service was friendly and patient with a party of several young kids and the restaurant was quiet and cool

We came in for a birthday lunch and happy that we were able to make reservations. Parking is located just before the ABC store next to the restaurant. When you turn right onto beachwalk, the entrance ro the parking garage located at the Longs CVS building is to the left. Don't drive too fast or you will miss it. There are several meter parking stalls fronting, but it is usually filled. We were lucky to get street parking and paid the meter $3 for 1 hour. When we walked in, we entered the door to the right, and she asked if we were Kamaiana, and we said yes. The hostess told us that there is a Kamaiana Menu next door. We were happy to hear that they offered this as we were not expecting it at all. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the hostess. There were many tables and also counter space available. Many patrons were seated and looked as though this is a popular spot. She gave us both menus but we all ended up ordering from the Kamaiana Lunch Menu. This is only available on M-F excluding holidays. There are only 3 items on the menu but great choices. A. MIXED KATSU SET (1 piece each consisting of Minced Pork, Pork Loin, Pork Tenderloin, and Shrimp) - this set was perfect and very filling. It comes with rice, miso soup, a side dish, and all you can eat cabbage salad. The katsu was very very good. It was fried well and crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. B. DONBURI SET (We did not order this) C. KATSU CURRY SET (Choice or Chicken or Pork) This set came with rice, miso soup, side dish, and all you can eat cabbage salad. The curry was good. It has a spicy and sweetness to it. The katsu sauce is on the table along with two dressings. One was creamy and the other was a shoyu base. I preferred the creamy dressing. Everything was amazing and everyone raved about the food. We all said that we would definitely return. I would say it's a must try, especially if you love tonkatsu from Japan.

Best tonkatsu I've had outside of Japan. The fried black tiger shrimp was so meaty for shrimp, and dipped in the curry was perfection. The sesame dressing, also perfection. Everything fried to perfection. Everything is so fresh here. Not one thing stood out because everything was so good. When we got there we were quickly helped and seated because we had a reservation. I always make a reservation because a lot of the time they're fully booked for the night. The inside looks like a typical tonkatsu spot in Japan. 10/10 must try if you're staying in Waikiki! A lil bit of a walk from where I was but it gave us an opportunity to walk the strip after dinner.

One of the best meals I've ever had. I inhaled the entire plate in around 2 minutes and 12 seconds. In fact it tasted so good that I'm sure it will smell great on its way out tomorrow.
